The work I produce in the jewellery workshop divides into two groups: commissioned work and collections. Collections are groups of pieces with a common thread – a texture, a technique or form – and usually include earrings, rings, necklaces and brooches. Commissions or one-offs come about from conversations with the client and reviewing past work.
I enjoy applying surface textures – which liberate me from the “tyranny” of highly polished precious metals. My overall aim is to make work that is easy to wear – undemanding and long-lasting both in strength and style.
